I also saw this article about AMD's "process development partner".
Looks like they might "exit" the development game ... I expect
AMD to follow.

Motorola president addresses rumored sale of chip unit

"PARK RIDGE, Ill. — Reacting to reports that the company might sell off
its struggling semiconductor business, Motorola Inc. president and
chief operating officer Bob Growney has denied singling out any particular
segment of the company but acknowledged that "no segment is immune" from
being sold. In an internal memo to all Semiconductor Products Sector employees,
Growney reiterated his confidence in the unit's financial prospects but said
that the company may eventually run out of patience."
