These people have most likely owned their homes a very long time and have them largely paid off.

I have never heard that. If you can provide concrete evidence of that statement, I would appreciate it. On the contrary, Boomers have been the most irresponsible due to increasing asset inflation in the markets and real estate.

This country has the lowest home equity ownership EVER, EVER! What are you saying, all these happy-go-lucky citizens are Gen X'ers?
