Tench: Let's just say that I suspected Willamette could benefit from more cache even before I heard about the actual performance improvement Northwood had over Willamette.

If, by that, you mean that you "suspect" the P4 of benefitting more from the added cache than&#133 say the Athlon or the PIII&#133 then that would concur with my own feeling.

It would also be nice to see some sort of reduction in the latency of cache hits from the FPU (which are currently a minimum of 6 cycles, presumably because the FPU cannot use the L1 cache).
