No, in my case I can't quite just live off my investments, it really was FEAR overcoming GREED; I sold and watched in horror as the value of stock I held continued to climb another 20+ points in the month that followed (why did it seem the worst thing imaginable to sell and see a stock continue to rise?)... and MFNX has now fallen under a dollar!

But a friend of mine was an MIT college buddy of Len B. and was in CSCO at the IPO!! He gradually sold shares over the years, but dollar wise his holding was always the greatest part of his portfolio. When I sold I began getting on his case about how nuts the tech market was and it was time to get out but he didn't listen, he still has that remaining chunk of CSCO! And it's still worth millions...
