15:06 ET Sycamore Ntwks (SCMR) 5.81 -0.11: Stock spiked off its 5.52 low in recent minutes; trading floors citing a rumor that SCMR will be an acquisition target for Tellabs (TLAB 14.02 +0.11). More often than not, such rumors are false and we have no confirmation of this one, but if this did occur it would be very interesting as it might mark the beginning of a consolidation phase in telecom, with bigger players filling technology gaps by snapping up distressed start-ups, such as SCMR, RBAK, CORV, AVCI.
