You are somewhat misinformed about osteopathy. Osteopathy is the progenitor of chiropractic, but stands alone as a profession. You are thinking of osteopathic manual technique, which continues to be taught in DO training but is not practiced widely by all DOs. There are DO medical schools and osteopathic hospitals which practice conventional medicine. DOs are licensed in all states that I know of and most practice conventional medicine.

When I was a kid my mother used to take me to an Osteopath. He did many of the same thing our regular MD did. Set bones and put on casts. I also used to get sinus infections from walking through the weeds when hunting and he did the same nose pack as the MD. What he couldn't do was prescribe medications.

You may be thinking of Chiropractic which is poo pooed a lot. I go to one and he has helped my back. I also get headaches from neck pain and one crack cures that.

Sue is going in for more knee surgery and the surgeon sent her to a Chiropractor who also does Kinesiology. I had never heard of that before. One visit and she went from needing a walker in the morning to not even her cane.
