List the programs that you have running in the background. Perhaps one of them is using up your resources.

Sorry bout that.

I posted a couple of links to troubleshooting sights that discussed your problem. when I went back to test the links, my PC started some crazy anonymous download that wouldn't stop, and I had to "pull the plug' so to speak, but not before I edited the last post so nobody else would get stuck too.

The long and short of the links I was posting was that a reinstallation of windows 98 solved the problem. That is, however, probably overkill.

I'm sure somebody here can tell you what you need to know. They are a lot smarter than me.
