I am against* government funding toward AIDS research, as well as cancer, heart disease, asthma etc..* We agree on that. But I my argument for cancer or heart disease is even weaker. Why? I really fail to see the difference between dying of a communicable or a non-communicable disease. I would be far more interested in getting rid of the federal government subsidies of the tobacco industry than I am in the government leading an ad campaign. Amen. Further, just because I don't like smoking, doesn't mean that I don't like smokers and that I think that they should all die agonizing deaths from lung cancer. Agreed on both points.
