I saw the baby and the writing as pretty much the same thing so the fact that they chose to focus on the baby in the dramatization for dramatic effect came to the same thing for me as the writing in the story. It IS creativity crying out. It is our total body that cries out to respond to the creative urge. IT is primal passion that makes people want to create. Of course normally we channel that passion logically, and we create- but logical paths for release and creation were foreclosed to this woman, so her passions seemingly take the irrational path of madness, but in reality that is the ONLY path open to her. Just as suicide was the only choice in the awakening.
