Why are they *afraid* to talk with investors?

Well they may be hoping for a publication in something like the NEJM or hoping to get a high-profile spot at a conference, both of which can be jeopardized by revealing too many details now.

It also looks like their data shows a greater incidence of side-effects from regular blood than people commonly appreciate. This is a hornet's nest that I'm sure they don't want to stir.

Finally, I don't think they've had the data themselves for that long (all analysis was done independently from the company) and so maybe they just aren't ready to talk about details.

This story is far from over - the AC meeting will be very tough even if their data is excellent.

If today's action is any guide, the market is on the side of the skeptics - down roughly 10% at the low this morning
