The 2.57 ratio is the put-call premium ratio featured in IBD, not the volume ratio which was .53 on the CBOE for July 2, 1997. The IBD volume ratio on October 8, 1998 was 1.11, with the CBOE overall and equity ratios of 1.27 and 1.08, respectively.

I want purging and puking identified in Rydex MM and Velocity and it ain't breaking yet. Tonights numbers very disappointing.

We could still get a bounce from these levels over the next few days, but if it happens sentiment read nevertheless says it will be just another strip-tease fling that we have been experiencing far too often of late.

Best Regards, J.T.
