The man is lot more intelligent (or devious - depending on your point of view) than we give him credit for. My guess is that he knew (heuristically) exactly how the quarter was going to turn out and he is managing the guidance to minimize the negative impact to share prices. The man is nothing if not a control freak. Everything is manipulated. Nothing is what it appears to be - not even the numbers that are announced at earnings cc. Mary
