Top managers who follow stocks, or top managers whose income depends on the performance of the stocks?

Fund managers' statements don't mean a thing. Look at the earnings and the guidance. The truth is out there!

The people who really know what is going are the people at the top of fortune 500 businesses. Trouble is they are less than honest in CCs etc. I tune out to CCs and instead concentrate on the earnings releases (and I don't take any notice of charges or pro formas either) and the guidance. It is amazing how much more honest publicly traded company officers are when dishonesty can mean prison.

Even the analysts hedge their "recommendations" with statements like "valuations stink" when they promote out of their mouths while selling stock behind their backs.

Do the managers at Corning think there is a rebound coming soon? If so, why did they just announce sudden slowdown in telecoms and a further 1000 layoffs?
