Actually, I was going to make the same point. I even wrote the post. But before I submitted it I thought I should be sure that chivalry only had to do with right behavior toward women. So I looked it up. And the definition in fact is was sex neutral, but simply referred to the qualities expected of a knight -- courage, generosity, and courtesy. So while it may by some people be used in a gender specific context, that doesn't appear to be the correct use of the term.

I do not see why these two concepts should be considered mutually exclusive...why do you? "Admitting an error and correcting it should be done under all circumstances and has nothing to do with a code of honor toward women."
