Now, why did you not post this three years earlier

the nice thing about that article is that it is just as valuable to read now as then, only now the markets are much more overvalued IMO.

i have been spending a lot of time thinking about my new portfolio. i believe bonds will outperform US stocks over the next 10 years at least, and will look to have at least a 50% bond weighting. that seems a lot for my age, but given how overpriced the market remains IMO, i think it is sensible for me to remain patient. at some point in the next 20 years, i believe there will again be an equity risk premium worth ponying up for, but not today.
