"There were some tech stocks that got a "Proceed Directly to GO" card and effectively were able to skip the bear market with a minimum of pain, mainly due to visibility of earnings. KLAC, NVLC and AMAT among the chip-equipment companies, QCOM also comes to mind. I don't think these companies will get hit, however as a bull market commences, these stock will probably not experience dramatic gains that other pummeled techs will see.
All those job layoffs and drastic belt tightening measures will come home to roost as a greater percentage of sales kicks to the bottom line."
