Mark: You don't have to convince me about the current account deficit. My concern for the weak dollar thesis at this moment is simply that the US and Japan might have a coordinated reflation which, for a period of time, could keep the dollar from slipping. The Euro central bank is getting far behind the curve in my opinion -- very badly managed. The Europeans cannot be trusted to manage their growth rate -- and I don;t see the Eiro as the key. The yen will surely not go up by much against the dollar at this point. The only scenario left is a repricing against gold -- not sure how I feel about that.
