As to insider buying/selling. . .

Not to say it's different this time, cuz that mantra never works. That said, options are something of a wild card here. Back in the 70s bear, say, how many company insiders were granted millions of shares a year in options? What incentive do they have now to buy on the open market when they're vesting new shares every few months or so?

Admittedly, in 1998 options were already a factor. And the wholesale dumping by tech execs is. . . well. . . impressive. Makes me jealous, actually <g>. But I wonder if there's a study out there that calculates the total number of shares held by insiders today vs other times in history? Or one that factors in options, too? It'd be interesting to see.
