According to the information released so far, mobile Northwood has a TDP of 30 watts, or some 20% beyond what is out there. That extra 5 watts means a different, possibly radically different, cooling solution required. Given the lack of available Tualatin notebooks, it is difficult to guess how the new PowerStep works, so it is hard to say how long the batteries in a 5 or 6 pound notebook will lack with a mobile Northwood power hog. Much less how hot the users lap will be...
