As I said, I have seen the 70's but not as an investor. I did begin to invest by mid 80's. I did vaguely understand what was happening in the 70's. Once I grew up, it was a question of catching up on history, not so much through books (at least not initially) as with the help of older investors in my circle.

As to your second observation, yes, I am largely on the sidelines. I did most of my selling last year itself. There is nothing more to sell.

But keep in mind that I am taking a risk too. This market can just run away from me and I'll never be able to get back in! But I am betting on the possibility that it won't happen.

Of your picks,

siliconinvestor.com

ONIS and VTSS have joined the Single-Digit Club as of today. JDSU is already there -- and getting closer to zero by the day. GLW is almost there, to be followed perhaps by CIEN, OPWV, CSCO, LSI...? Maybe even INTC?

Let's wait and see what happens.
