Sphera Announces Bandwidth-trading Initiative

opticalnetbiz.com

Sphera Optical Networks, a metro-core network provider based in New York City, today announced MetroHub, a new initiative aimed at facilitating the growing trend of long-haul bandwidth trading. Sphera uses its penetration in 10 metropolitan markets across the United States and Europe to enable long-haul carriers to connect to end customers, reducing the number of "abandoned trades."

“Lack of connectivity at the end points has long been a factor in the cautious adoption of bandwidth trading," Harold Grossnickle, Sphera's CEO, said in a release. "Our MetroHub solution provides the missing puzzle-piece to complete this picture."

The firm has released a white paper detailing the MetroHub.
