bobby-i dont know if silicon will ever be
the same after people have found means for live interaction,
but in fairness to these type of threads let me also say
that 2001 has not been the year for what i would consider
investing...it is impossible to post dd on stocks that
have no shelf life.i can probably only think of 10 stocks this year that has had the full 3 day run...
now the good news is a lot of forecaster are looking for a turn in the next 3 weeks and that might change things, but besides the brief energy sector run we have had nothing of consistency to discuss....
there is only one stock right now that i am confident that i can say will be higher 2 months from now than right now and that is USXP....
either way the gimmick they have via tax writes offs or
tender offers for over one dollar they will claim to receive, they have an angle to pursue to really push this stock higher.......

here is hoping good luck to us all,i would like to hold a stock longer than 7 minutes, but i still like to make money...

ps-this post was done with sleeping baby in lap.

bobby g,
I have to agree with you. TGL live has excluded many people who used to buy these stocks. Most of the stocks I buy do not fit into the criteria used by the posters here and in TGL live. So, I do not use TGL live ever. I have no use for it.

The occasional 'TGL' type stock I pick up will probably come from a tip on the SI TGL board. Yet, the TGL folks wonder why runs only last a few minutes. Well, they have tried to make the sharing of information private. Think about it. Do they want to keep their info private, or do they want to share with everyone? It appears to me they have already given us their answer.

Hi bobby_g, let me get this straight ... you want to lurk here and expect people to post stock tips to you out of the kindness of their hearts ?

In a bear market ?

Just my opinion, but I don't think that's a very reasonable expectation.

If your goal is to make money day trading, then there's no substitute for scrolling real time feed communications.

I joined SI in 1997. Because of what I do for a living, throughout the mid 1980s - late 1990s I was verrrry tapped into what was going on in the computing/networking world and did quite well finding stocks yet to be discovered by Wall St., who as a group are totally clueless about technology.

Anyway, Yahoo Finance did not exist, and I discovered that SI was a fantastic place to read peoples posts about other stocks that I would not have known about otherwise. The TA threads were great too. Learned a lot from them.

But with the whole world obsessed with tech stocks, with on online resources like Yahoo Finance. SI's purpose and value is diminished. There's no reason for anyone to post anything here other than a ticker symbol. If it looks interesting -- go check the news or a real time quote server.

Like Lance says, the markets now react in minutes (actually seconds) instead of hours. Its ridiculous, and I don't like it either, and I miss the people that used to post on SI and no longer do, but that's the way it is.

Regards,
Chris

Hi bobby, it wouldn't make much sense to post here first over a live chat room to begin with, SI banned me from having my post readable at one point, that's when I turned most of my efforts to TGL LIVE. In fairness I like to use message boards for reference type posts, company news or general DD posts. Between live and message boards, there's a good balance. I use Ihub to post results of the lists on a daily bases as well.

Steve

bobby_g as others have said, it's a different market now, than 18 or so months ago.

But here's an example of what I try to do. Yesterday ETCR had news that first hit MyTrack at 11:54.

Here's what I posted in LIVE at 11:59 ??? (see comment below)

ETCR news<P>

..and here's what I posted on SI, at 11:55

Message 16280240

Actually I think Digichat's clock is wrong by a couple of minutes, as I remember making the two posts within seconds of each other.

I don't post news releases or filings in LIVE, they are too long...best I will do in there is as above, an alert, and then post the actual news release, filing, or whatever, here.

The other day, SSP and I both caught news on one at the same time... I told LIVE that xxxx had news, and at the same time SSP was posting the actual release here.

it's confirmed the Digichat clock is off by about 4 minutes.
