Bush is behaving like a typical alcoholic in that he needs to reduce his stress frequently and remove himself from difficult circumstances. I believe that is why he goes on vacations frequently. He is tempted to pick up his old habit.

Cheney's resignation would suit me fine but that would leave Bush to "run to show" for a while. I seriously doubt that the heirachy would allow him to do anything but "act the part". Cheney's removal would have to be quickly followed by a VP appointment of another of Bush Sr.s buddies. I doubt that any strong Republican would have anything to do with such a bungled administration. In any event, we will all be in trouble if Bush is forced to do his job 7 days a week and is forced back "on the bottle". That time may be approaching.

I heard this morning that Republicans in Colorado are asking Bush to change Norton's policy on mining in the state parks. They are afraid it would hurt tourism in the state.
