If we're gonna hit $10.00 EPS by 2010 (without investment income), imho Q is gonna have to sell no less than a billion chips per year (assuming a market share close to what we have now). Mind you, we're just talking rough, back of a napkin numbers here...

So the question is, is that realistic?

...considering by 2005 it's projected that we'll have 350 mil CDMA2000 subs, and 50 mil WCDMA subs?

You brought up some interesting points in your post and I want to look at a couple things and discuss this further. Let's get back to this shortly.

Maurice Then, Globalstar will come blasting across the sky and people will be amazed at what results from that. Globalstar has NOT been seen the last of. It should be extremely profitable for the new asset owners [probably largely QUALCOMM]

Well, then you better tell Qualcomm to get that development Gateway fired up again.. The one tracking antenna (not enclosed in a radome) is pointing straight up in the air.. I took a walk around the Qualcomm parking lot yesterday and listen to the other 3 enclosed tracking antennas to see if they were moving.. Nada!!

All 4 of the tracking antenna are not operating at this juncture.. Hardly sounds like a company getting ready become a big owner...

MW - lets be realistsic there are simply not going to be 5bn people who want cdma. About 4bn of them want three squares a day first and then they want clean water.

one bn or one and a half bn will do nicely. And so will growth of $1.5 -$2.00 $2.75 etc for a few years. Forget about $10 per share. Q will be chas rich and have investments as INTC did and mSFT did and it will have better growth than almost any other company of its size.

$100 per sahre by 05 should still be good compare to the rest of the World and the rest of the market.

If we end up with the NAZ at around 1,000 and the Q at around $25 - $30 then that level of growth should be fine.

Forget about yestereday we are in an entirely new world with a Fed that is totally out of touch and an Administration that wants to commit financial harakiri.

MM predicts 9% to 12% unemployment.

Just being left standing after all this is over will be an achievement.

Reduced earning expecations for years ahead.

Best regads,
