Text of 2nd post brings in sentiment and other tools to place the 2 time periods in a broader context.

"ya, in 98 the sentiment was gruesome, the financials were crashing, i think there were 4 bear magazine covers, bearish advisors temporarily outweighed bullish advisors, i don't see how he could compare the sentiment now and then.
sunw is the first big cap tech to break the april low providing some nice bearish leadership, csco has a gilligan island on it, add that one to all the other gillgan's around, lucretious may have to start posting here on a regular basis to stop this slide -gg-"

Bottom line, the broad market indices have PLENTY of downside risk going forward. Couldn't agree more.
