the only reason I have an opinion of Ford today is that someone told me he'd buy it at 17 yesterday. My first response was, what a stupid arbitrary number, until I started to prepare to defend my position and found it wasn't as easy as I first expected.

Stochastically it's a buy pure and simple. The last time F went to 22 I was a heavy buyer and sold alot of calls during the past year. Frankly it looked better at 22 a year ago than it looks now at..(whoa!) 19.76 . It has a lot of baggage. A year ago the dividend wasn't in doubt. A year ago GM was not considered more than a dinosaur. A year ago, it was only a firestone recall. The two that most bother me now, are GM as a respectable alternative in the sector and the dividend. Somewhere down here Ford will be a great core holding buy. I'm just not sure it's yet.
