Excellent advice I think about not buying until December...but how will we know whether orcl,sunw,jdsu, etc will have good enough earnings again in the next couple of years to allow their share prices to do well?

As a trader of tech stocks, I might quibble with you on your comment that 'stocks are for holding', at least in the tech area. The problem is that yes, you can at times pick them up for 'practically nothing', but as many hotshots have learned over the past few years, you can 'hold em', have huge paper gains, and be right back where you started in no time <ggg>...
