LOL I knew you would. We've all been squashed by the universe at some time or other. To be honest I never found any comfort in thinking it was part of a grand design. I found it easier to live with the thought that things happen, and you make the best out of it. If I thought misery was planned for us, I would find that hard to live with. What plan could involve child abuse? torture? ethnic cleansing? But I do not accept that the means justify the end. I think means and end must be "good"- my conception of good of course. Although my conception is a pretty standard one.
