There might well be a rally from shorter-term oversold levels. My own foolish indicators would seem to indicate as much, if the market doesn't decide to break to new lows.

If you want to see something irrational, take a look at a long-term monthly chart of the Naz. The crash has been about as irrational as gravity.

To say there's irrational gloom and doom because overpriced tech stocks can't continue to move up while earnings are plunging is, well, ridiculous. The reasoning seems to be: 'I want to make money in the market and it's not moving up. It's irrational.' It's an intriguing view -- one that seems to see the market as a nursery school, a day-care center, for traders, with free milk & cookies. At least it keeps them off the street, I suppose.

Scott-- there will be MORE going next week than went this week,, due to the short week. I look for less daily vol and more of the ugly same..
