Do you seriously see no difference between a 3rd world country's guerrilla fighters operating out of refugee camps, and a 1st world country's military replete with tanks and Apache helicoptors?

Are you condemning Israel for being more powerful, or saying it is ok to send children to fight the IDF because they are so powerful?

Tim

I see that a people whose leadership prefers to wage a guerilla war against a modern army without first exhausting the possibilities of negotiation or civil disobedience is led by idiots. But we knew that.

Indeed, Arafat has precluded the possibility of negotiations in the short term by starting this war in response to a serious and far-reaching Israeli offer. As Prof. Sayigh says (remember, he was part of the Palestinian negotiating team):

"The result has been counter-productive in the short term ... and seriously detrimental in the medium-term to the Palestinian national objective of securing a peace deal on terms more conducive to achieving territorial integrity ... than the Israeli proposals presented by then-Prime Minister Ehud Barak at the Camp David summit of July 2000."
