Charles,

You are 100% correct. I turned down an offer in March with an Internet Startup to stay with a "CLick and Bricks" type of shop (the worlds largest shipping line). We are probably only 50% internet converted and plan to continue conversions over the next 1 year. The Internet has improved profit margins, customer delivering of shipping information (previously mainframe based), etc. It has been great for us.

Granted, we are not exactly bringing in new web developers, but we are still buying servers.

HOWEVER, one little problem for SUNW longs is just recently we went with a Linux on Intel Servers with Apache webserver solution because we could swing that for essentially free. I am seeing this trend with clients as well. The only licenses and fees we are paying is to Oracle for their database. My take is Oracle is a better play over the next 2 years if things slow down and companies start watching their money closer -- i.e. we are paying Oracle for DB liceneses on Linux just like we would have on SUN boxes.

Best of luck.
