Hard argument to make when the profit of a corporation gets taxed 2 times.

"What about corporations not paying their fair share?"

What about it? I have a corporation and I run it so it does not make much profit, so it does not pay much Fed Tax (there is a minimum tax of $800 I think). But guess what, I pay myself to minimize profits. My tax bracket is higher than the corporate tax of 15%. Would you feel better if I kept more in the corporation and subsequently paid more corporate tax even though the result would be LESS money to your beloved tax spenders?

Long and the short of it is the gov't has PLENTY of money to do all things a government should do. The problem is not that they don't have enough money. It is that they SPEND TOO MUCH!

Why is that so hard for the libs to understand?

I too, a closely held corp., am being taxed two times. If I go out on the road and use a hotel or motel (seldom) on business, I pick moderately priced lodging. However, some that I know of on Gov't. business, especially the military, get us gouged when they are assigned certain hotels to stay in. Of course, we (the commoners) pay for it.

I have to pay a $10 registration fee as a senior when I go to my HMO. The State employees pay $1. It appears to me that we are all subsidizing government. And you should hear them whine when they have to co-pay. Going into a recession with layoffs all over in the private sector, let us see if some of those lord and lady deadbeats continue to whine for more in some of their cush public(make employees) job hideouts?

President Ike said it best: "Beware the Military-Industrial complex." That's why I can't support open end contract funding for military needs and projects. Who knows where the end is? Star wars could lead our taxes into Outer Space. And all the while some kid with a worm on a bent hook comes in and catches the big fish while the big shots with their fancy tax paid Abercombie and Fitch gear get a goose egg.

It's pretty simplistic to run off blame on "Corporations", but not all corporations are alike. Some corporations with Dot.com behind them are going broke; even some restaurants with huge utility bills in a declining customer economy. I wouldn't want to take a brush shot at the whole Government employee structure either. There are certainly more efficient and hard working crews and individuals here and there, but it is obvious to anyone working in this society for even a few years that the "tail is still wagging the dog" and more of it is happening at the furthest from our view - Washington D.C.

$300! so what?
