MetalTrader, you're right and I don't disagree. I was being facetious. I do much the same thing as chartists, I just do it the old fashioned way. I watch the stock prices and the movement of the stock in real time and try to get a "feel" for what is going on with the stock in terms of investor sentiment. Of course this only works with the 20 or so stocks that I am closely watching at any particular time and it is no substitute for a broader based technical system that is effective in the current market.

I think that the more people that use charts, the more accurate charting will be. My problem is that I just can't generate the enthusiasm to spend the time learning a charting system. I can assure you that I pay close attention to the posts of those who do and that I appreciate the data. I cling to the belief that there are different ways to arrive at the same place and that my technique may still have some legs left under it.

By the way, your canary analogy was perfect but did you have to be so descriptive about it's little claws in the air. That was heart wracking. gg. Ed
