Lockbox, Surplus, Tax Rebate my foot. To be quite honest, I paid around $250,000 in Federal Tax each of the last few years on top of salary withholdings. They refunded a good bit of the last years payments in April, and definitely won't be getting barely over a nickle this year, not to mention reduced payroll withholdings. So when they talk about a surplus, and a SS fund lockbox, and rebating that surplus I just have to laugh. It HAS to be a con job. OR the Cons must be operating off a woefully behind the curve tax collection budget. And they must be paying for these Rebate checks by reducing money flow to the States. Right now my state is in the process of increasing the sales tax by 1% and increasing the income tax rate by 1/2% for the 'rich'. Say bye bye rebate.
