the largest tax increase in American history which Republicans said would certainly cause an immediate recession. Instead, we had 8 years of the greatest growth the US economy has ever experienced. Republicans have no credibility on the economy which is why Al Gore won the popular vote and why the Democrats will regain control of Congress in 2002.
