The real problem is the consumer's tendency to equate clock speeds with performance. But AMD's strategy of ModelHertz isn't going to solve the problem; instead, it will only confuse the consumer even more The question is, will the strategy increase AMD market share? Note that even if you are right about the consumer getting confused (which I really don't agree with), as long as the confusion results in the consumer deferring the purchase altogether, it still suffices from AMD's point of view!
