Hi Larry,

I like to sell the puts instead of buy the puts.

I am not a nimble trader.I have always been taught buy and hold. But sell at before tops - easily said hard to do.

Selling a put allows the decay of the premium to be on your side. Buying the put - allows the decay of the time premium to hurt you.

It is the difference of maybe a point over 60-75days and it establishes a lower codt basis (sometime than an outright buy might) on which capital gains could reward you.

There are many approaches - each to their own. I've found in being on the other side of an option - it provides a cushion. As a poor timer -that cushion is nice.hehe
