Joe, take a time out and look around, and digest what is going on, and you will sadly come to the conclusion that the world is sinking into a great depression and our President and Co are leading the parade. I hope you all wake up before it is too late

Oil prices are only manipulated when they are manipulated. Like last summer through this June. Usually the market sets the price. But once in awhile three is intentional gouging. This time it was on a global level with OPEC involved. They had the means, the motive and were totally united behind big agenda. Get Buch-Cheney in office then hope for rearranging world regulations to their liking. They are still trying though Jeffords move ajnd public outcry put a crimp in their plan.

Like Bunker Hunt manipulating the silver market (but much bigger and more complete without competition) they controlled it and manipulated it in conjunction with the Bush-Cheney campaign. Once Jeffords switched parties the gougings and supply shortages "miraculously" ended. Now everyone knows we have a glut so manipulation would be difficult. Plus Bush is already in power and now has more presing things to worry about. Like how to do his job.
But soon you'll see a new attempt by them to move prices higher. The reason? To try again to scare us into letting them have their way with our natural resources. They also want tax breaks to boot and Bush-Cheney are trying to get them. The Lieberman and GAO investigation though may derail those plans. Still I bought some HAL today. Very cheap.
And if that makes me "guilty" like Barbara Boxer for "trading in energy stocks" so be it.

AS wants cheap oil, conservation, and alternative energy.

What he fails to realize is that we will not have conservation or alternative energy to any significant extent as long as there is cheap oil.

Like too many people in the modern world, AS wants it all and has never learned to prioritize his goals.
