Our rights come from a Creator. I don't see how someone who is an agnostic would risk his life over these rights, although I do see how an atheist would not risk their life for these rights. Are you serious? You don't think the advantages of democracy, rule of law, and a grant of inalienable individual rights are evident regardless of religious belief? You believe in them only because some book or religious guru told you to? You don't think an atheist or agnostic has a rather strong interest in religious freedom? I depend on that more than any Christian. I'm part of a small minority. Do you think Jews aren't in favor of it? But as they say, there are no atheists in foxholes. Wrong. You may wish to believe that, but your wrong. I've had the experience of laying on a gurney in an emergency room with doctors and nurses running around me because I was having a major heart attack. It didn't occur to me until later that the thought of God or a sudden conversion or praying for my life had never occurred to me. Wanna bet? Has it occurred to you that Christianity isn't going to be suddenly true just because I'm in danger of dying? I've been in that foxhole and there was an atheist there.

Well said Gao. Haven't seen you around these parts lately; so, may I extend my sincere welcome. Be prepared, we are in the ring and most of us don't pull punches. Many of the left wingers have thrown in the towel after becoming weary with being held on the ropes. Sad, but it seems their withered old agenda is fragmented and feeble; their poltroonery thoroughly exposed. I suppose it is best to let them crawl off and consider their situation (defeat). Regarding your points; We are born humans and into the human condition. I am with you; a sane individual finds our condition and the rights and responsibilities held therein to be self evident. However, there is nothing like injustice to raise our level of awareness.
