Look at msft's valuation. The software stocks are all breaking down.

Every single computer maker has stated that sales will not rebound until about a year from now.

They'll have to reduce guidance and they're not priced for that in this market. Besides that, funds are seeing outflows. If it continues, funds need to sell big liquid stocks. They'll be looking for winners to offset losses this year.

To quote Bill Clinton: "It's the economy stupid!" and msft isn't immune especially at the valuation they are at.

Think it can't happen? They were at this price in Dec. 2000 and at the 52 week low 5 days later. Look what happened to msft when Win 95 was released. It wasn't pretty then either.
