LP i know, i was really discouraged when i read that. pic -> johnnytapia.com a couple of months ago i took a few moments to characterize and describe johnny tapia for mrs. peel, who had said that she had never actually seen the man fight. #reply-16017975 i really truly have grown to appreciate johnny tapia for the effort he puts forth when he climbs into the ring. i hope and pray that the effort he puts forth now outside of the ring is enough to see him through this tough time. for anyone interested, you'll find a contact number for him here johnnytapia.com :) mark

Teresa Tapia releases statement Sept 1, 2001 SecondsOut.com The wife of troubled super-star Johnny Tapia has made a statement regarding her husband’s apparent suicide attempt on Thursday night. Few details have emerged – it is not known at which medical facility the enormously popular four-time world champion is being treated – however Teresa Tapia seems to confirm the fighter did make an attempt on his own life. In a press release she said: “As you know, Johnny has been battling severe depression. Right now, he has some personal issues to deal with, most of which involve decisions regarding his career.
