To be honest Patricia, the first post wasn't meant to be funny .. but it does sort of fall into the "funny, yet true" category. The "let's get it over with" mentality is typically why bear markets are so dangerous. Think about this hypothetical scenario: One person had $10,000 in the NASDAQ when it was at 5000. It is worth $3,600 today. The smart person waited for the NASDAQ to drop 40% (i.e. NASDAQ 3000) before putting money in. Their $10,000 is worth $5,666 today. Even waiting for a 40% correction didn't prevent the smart person from losing a lot of money. Chris
