hi mrs. peel very disturbing for sure, but it's not surprising and it's why he refers to it as his crazy life. not sure, but i think there have been a couple other suicide attempts. his greatest struggle has always been with himself, his so-called inner demons. he's in another world when he steps inside the square circle. i just emailed him. i listed probably twenty or more of the great fighters i have seen in my lifetime, and told him that of them all, johnny tapia has given me the most for my money, has shown more heart, and has put forth the most effort. i've said before that he is like the pete rose of boxing. he brings every damn thing he's got, and he don't leave nothing at home on the shelf. you get the full johnny tapia every time. :) mark
