When you do a clean install, do you have to reformat the hard disk
Christopher

A clean install to me is completely deleting everything on ones hard drive.

or can you do a clean install over an old version of Windows?

That would be an upgrade.

Any advice on whether to go 2000 or ME? I want to avoid XP, I think.

Almost everything I've read about XP is that it's a winner.

I'm using Windows XP RC2 as we speak and as I get acclimated to this system I'm finding more and more to like.

Why not wait for the 10-25 release and then judge the consensus.
