I do not believe that it is that clear cut. Yes, IBM dropped amd but dell does not have better luck with intel only either. As far as expense reduction then I think that it is a complete bs given that dell systems are overpriced to begin with.

About the only reason I could see Dell going with AMD at this time is that for some strange reason they are thinking about combating X-box with AMD+nForce...
