I think at the bottom the level of fear and pain should be equal in magnitude to the bliss at the top of the mania. Its Newton's first law applied to financial markets. Unfortunately I think we have a long way to go to that point. When the VIX is at about 80+ then I think we can find a bottom, but not before. Those people trapped in million dollar jumbo loans with their company stock tanking 10% a day and the company laying off will start to move the VIX up soon. M.
