That Japanese food link was, indeed, cool. And I finally found a recipe for the salad dressing that I like so much, at least I think I did. A restaurant near me used to sell me the stuff in mason jars, but they closed several years ago.

Re the quiz, I've never seen that desert. Took me four tries to pick out the name. The hand roll name I only got by process of elimination. And I'm sure I've never seen a boiled soybean pod served anywhere, although I was able to guess what it was.

I admit to using my chopsticks to cut food. I didn't realize that it was uncool. I learned the trick from someone who is knowledgeable about Chinese etiquette so maybe it's OK there. And I use my chopsticks to do eeny, meeny, miney, moe all the time. Guess I'll have to spend more time in Japanese restaurants to practice my etiquette. There's one right up the street--next door to that big briar patch.

Those were so much fun, although I did better at ESP. I did NOT know you weren't supposed to use chopsticks for sushi-- why do they give them to us? DO you think it's a test? I hate that. They are probably in the kitchen howling becuase not only do I use them, I use them very badly. I don't understand it. I can play Chopin and Liszt, but I can't get a small piece of food to my mouth with some sticks. The boys could do it at 4. I'm the one to whom the waiter discreetly slides a fork after a couple of minutes of watching the food pile up on my lap.

I am on a tofu kick. TOfu and RIchard Simmons. I am a new woman. I feel sure that's why I am not depressed enough to write.

I just took Japanese eating test #1 and got all but one answer correct. Yay.
