enslaves the populace You've read way too much of Animal Farm. The U.S. government has never been close to what you describe. Any institution with hundreds of billions of dollars in budget is a major player in the economy. The federal government has been much smaller and powerless before and the U.S. was a minor country in the world because of that. Some pipe dream belief that we will be better off in some pre-Civil War fragmented and weak government system is more absurd fiction than talking pigs. TP
