I think we're actually in agreement in basic political outlook and philosophy.

The disagreement seems to be simply the origin of the rights of man. I cannot accept the "inherent" argument; if these things are inherent, why is it the only appeared recently?

I would change
all men are created equal and possess certain inalienable rights.
to read
all men are equal before the law and should possess certain inalienable rights.

And yes, Jefferson was influenced by the Age of Enlightenment; he was also influenced by English and colonial history. Much of the wording of the Constitution and Bill of Rights and many of the grants of roghts can be traced to those histories.
