It applies but to the PC of two years in the future.

The games won't need to be ported to the PC. They'll already be made for the PC! What are the biggest games coming to the X-Box? They're all PC games! Games are being ported from the PC to the X-Box, not the other way around.

That's what I used to think but the article I link you to convinced me of the opposite.
